EQ2 - Mouse cursor sticks when switching between clients

Post by leavy » Mon Aug 07, 2006 7:19 am

I'm running two instances of EQ2 on the same machine with each on a separate monitor (using UltraMon as the display manager). Every time I move my mouse over to the instance that's currently inactive and click, the cursor will lock down as if I was holding that particular button down. It's probably not a huge problem for people who aren't me, but I've fumbled almost ever time I switch between my windows that I'm starting to pull my hair out.

The program is leaps and bounds more efficient than running vanilla EQ2 in two windows, but this little issue is really bugging me to the point that I'm almost going to need to return to vanilla lest I get myself killed.

thanks for any help.

Having the same issue. Best I've found is that when you switch, double click. Same is true for me when using a modifier key like shift/alt/control and using that hotkey to shift between instances.

Does anyone have a fix for this? I can get used to it but I'd rather not have to.

I kind of expected to be able to mouse over the other instance (using dual monitors with EQ2 running in emulated full screen on both) and click what I need rather than double clicking and then doing what I need to do.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Can we get a post on this issue? I just purchased this software and while the software is good for what I am doing this mouse issue as explained above is going to make me dump it.

I play everquest 2 with 5 accounts, 3 accounts tiled on 1 monitor and 2 other accounts to there own monitor.

I'm sure I could get used to the double clicking everytime i need to change instances, but its very annoying when you forget, especially when your in need of a heal lol, and when you forget and go to move the mouse it makes the camera all screwy.

Anyway I would like to know if there is a workaround for this issue and if not, if there is an update that may correct this issue in an upcoming version?

Thanks

I have a potential fix, but in order to test it, I have to wait for my EQ2 to patch, which could take days.

This should be fixed as of today's WinEQ 2 patch. Restart WinEQ 2 for the patch to automatically be applied. Unfortunately this patch may introduce some unintended bugs, please let me know if anything is broken as a result.
