Could you rephrase this in another way? It sounds like you're saying you get this with or without WinEQ, but that wouldnt make sense to me since you're reporting it here.

The first thing I would do either way is to ensure that your CPU and video card are not overheating. Make sure the fans are spinning at full speed, etc. This report is consistent with overheating or an otherwise damaged video card

Sorry roug h day at work... I originally thought it was an overheating issue as well but it only happens when using WinEq.

Sure, but have you checked the fans? :)

Also, EQPlayNice is a good layer of protection for your CPU. Without it, EQ is still going to be munching on that CPU like last night's pizza. I'm still unclear whether or not you're using it ;)

Also, if it is a result of overheating or other hardware failures, it's possible to otherwise fix your system (e.g. replace fans, etc) and still have the same problems you had prior to that, because the hardware can be physically damaged.

Thanks for replying LAX

I checked fan speed etc via the tools included with the motherboard as well as visually, they all seem ok. The temp of the box is running at around 100 F.

I have been using EQplaynice to try to figure out what is causing the issues. Last night i did freeze while using EQplaynice as well as when I was just running EQ.

After reading the EQlive boards it looks like there are quite a few people having the same issues. It seems to be focused on the the Nvidia 6800 and 7800 video cards or possibly the MSI motherboard.

Interesting, I wonder why it would seem to be just with WinEQ then? I'll see what I can dig up

I would just like to add I've been having random crashes also, most recently when alt-tabbing out of the window. I run dual core X2 3800+ with 2x7800GT graphics cards. Will post the sysinfo later.

Just crashed again when I switched over to firefox to look up some info. Didn't alt-tab, just clicked over.
