BUG - All characters moving at the same time
I took a break for about 5 weeks, came back about 2 weeks ago and I started noticing, somtimes I would switch from one character to another and then I would notice I was moving both characters at the same time. Along with this I was also experiencing some crashes, but I went through the Sony boards and deleted a few files, redid some settings etc and the crashes have stopped.
However, this problem where I switch from one instance to another has continued on. Today I was dual boxing and suddently I noticed my other character had ran right into the camp as I was coming back with another mob and got promptly killed. I should say, this character was just sitting (a healer) in one spot, I had not moved him or anything, i know sometimes you can push a direction or something and switch quick and the character on the previous session will keep moving. What I am seeing is I can moving both at the same time in the same way. I can turn, or back up, or go forward etc.
Perhaps I inadvertantly changed some setting way back just before I stopped playing or something, not sure, but why would anyone want this sort of behaviour is what I am thinking, so I figure it has to be a bug.
Thanks for any help

I made the key to switch back and forth to be Tab and I also made sure that key is not bound in Everquest. I have always used this method and only ever had this type of behaviour since I came back a couple of weeks ago.

Well, here's what I am able to reproduce.
If I set my key to tab (it could be anything, but it just needs to be something that can be hit really quick), I am able to hit tab, and during the period that the focus is trying to switch to the other window, I can watch keys take effect in both windows. However, watching with both screens visible, I am NOT able to produce duplicate movement and such after that initial effect, though the key does act pressed in the other session.
This means if I hit tab and press left immediately, the old session continually turns left but the newly focused session does not.
Does this describe the issue you are experiencing, or can you truly produce duplicate movement continually?

Yes the movement will continue to move both characters. I have a hard time duplicating it myself, it happens every time I play, but when it happens is completely random. I tried logging in two characters to see if I could duplicate it and I couldn't do it at will.
I know exactly what you are talking about having one character continue on in one direction, but this is me controlling both characters, back forward, side to side, heck sometimes I have even fired off the same hot key on both, firing off a heal and kicking or whatever with the other character. This is happening quite alot, but it doesnt necessarily happen right away by any means. When it does happen though it can be dangerous as I mentioned earlier. The only way to stop it once it happens is to switch to the other character using (in my case) the Tab key again. Obviously though on a dual monitor system I am not always looking directly at both monitors, and having the second monitor on 1 fps makes it so I rarely noticed its happening until its too late.
I had been playing this way for a long time, I even run 3 accounts at times and often switch quickly between them but only recently has this behavior shown up.
I dont know if it helps at all but I usually dont see this behavior at all for quite a while, I would say I was on for about 30 minutes or so before it happened today. Yesterday it happened after maybe 1.5 hours in a DoN. It does happen every single day though.

Well, problem seems to be back. Was ok for a few days, then I had one instance of it, and I thought maybe it was just a fluke. Then another, now its been 6 different times that it has happened and I know the game was patched just before it started happening again so I thought I should post again as its getting really annoying having my shaman run into the middle of my camps.

I think I have finally caught what is happening this time, and can duplicate it. This time I am definately running in a straight line forward and I think it has to do with when the mouse makes you run by holding down right click first then holding down left click (makes you autorun). When I switch the task quickly immediately holding down right click to make a quick turn my other character starts to run off. Hope this helps.
