Problems with Profiles

Post by Tinael » Sat May 28, 2005 4:36 pm

Hello there! I am playing EQ and trying to make alternate profiles. I went to options/everquest/profiles and made two. One has all the good stuff turned on, and I made a second with minimum graphics and lucelin models turned off. For some reason, creating the second modified all my Everquest options in the first. I tired creating a thired profile and that also changed the options on the first. What am I doing wrong?

The problem is that EQ settings are directly tied to EQClient.ini, not to profiles. Any profile can be set to use any EQClient.ini, and by default they all use ... EQClient.ini. If you would like different EQ settings for each profile, set up the custom EQClient.ini setting in your WinEQ profile. Instead of ".\eqclient.ini" for example, you could make it ".\eqclient-my profile.ini" and so on.

I have a 2nd copy of eq on a 2nd drive setup for when I want to dbox with eq2, and eq2 with using a custom ini on the main eq folder setup to when I do run eq2 to dbox, leaving the original eqini alone for when Im not running eq2 and want to run full bore (ie all models and features) the eq2 profiles are setup to conserve memory and to play nice with each other.
