Someone else said they have this problem as well. Either way, you can just turn on patching in your WinEQ profile and it wont happen anymore ;)

Well uhh... all I can really tell you is that it works for everyone else (except the one other person). The only explanation I can give you is that it's possible your Windows install has something goofy with it (this is my best guess), or there might be some software changing the command line sent to eqgame.exe by WinEQ. It has always worked the same way - running eqgame.exe with the "patchme" parameter bypasses the "Run everquest.exe" box... WinEQ hasnt changed its method of launching EQ since the very first WinEQ alpha release, and until just now, there hasnt been a single report of getting the Run everquest.exe box.

If you have scanned for spyware and viruses, and have been keeping up to date on your windows updates, then I'm stumped.

I really didnt make a change, like I said it's been this way since day 1 ;)

Reinstalling WinEQ will do absolutely nothing to help, unfortunately. The files all have to match the server's hash value or they get patched. You can TRY deleting all the ini files and restarting WinEQ though, and they will get re-created. Then just set up your settings again.

Really, I dont think it'll change anything. The ONLY things I can come up with is some software on your machine changes the command line, or your kernel32.dll (one of the main windows DLLs) doesnt work like everyone elses.

Sounds like something specific to these Dells then. I'll see what I can do.
