Unable to load 2nd instance of EQ2 on Seconary Display

Post by Reason77 » Wed Nov 17, 2004 2:33 pm

Hello, I have followed the instructions on editing a profile. I edited my 2nd character profile for Secondary Display but when I select this profile it always loads on my primary display (On top of my 1st Character profile). This is very frustrating. I believe I'm still a subscriber. Please help thank you kindly

Okay, turns out theres a little bug. It really is creating it for the secondary display, BUT, WinEQ is incorrectly detecting that it should be on the primary display. So moving the window to the secondary display results in full framerate, but resetting the window or using part of WinEQ that should place it on the correct display automatically does not do so. I'll be fixing this bug before I release the next version, which was about 10 minutes away before this report ;)

Weird. The bug seems to be in DirectX9. I'll have to change how the correct monitor is detected.

I found and solved the issue. I'm currently testing the next release, which I expect to be up within an hour

Lax, I'm still having the same problem where I am unable to load two instances of EQ2 on 2 different monitors. I have 2 subscriptions to EQ2 and I am also a subscriber. I subscribe a month ago before the release of EQ2win does that mean I need to resubscribe to be able to use it?

No, you do not need to resubscribe. I did fix the bug and I'll test it with two accounts right now.

Seems to work fine. Post SysInfo.txt for me. Also, are you using Windows XP's desktop properties to set dual monitors, or using NVIDIA's desktop manager (or an ATI equivalent)?

Yes that was the reason why it was not working. I had Winxp/ATI radeon display options wrong. Problem solved. :)
