Not able top change between full/norm/tiny

Post by zadias » Sun Nov 14, 2004 9:43 am

I just installed 2.02 and having some problems not being able to change window sizes between the 3 presets. When I first installed it WinEQ was running in Normal mode. None of the global hot keys allow me to change between full, normal or Tiny. Seeingt he keystrokes in the upper left is new to me. Something I did notice about it was that S poped up when i hit shift, A when I hit alt but nothing when I hit " T " , " F " , " N " or any other letter key on my keyboard. The only way I'm playing in Full at the moment is under profifes, < profile here > , and setting the Default Preset to " Full Screen " . I am a subscriber with a current account.

The ACSW under the memory indicator only show the status of alt, ctrl, shift, and windows, just like the memory indicator did in WinEQ 1.38. When you hit SHIFT+ALT+N, you should see text in the center of your screen saying "Normal".

Paste the contents of your WinEQ-EQ.ini for me

That's the EQII one and I assumed you were trying EQ1. If you were playing EQ1, post the wineq-eq.ini otherwise I'll explain how normal preset works in EQII and World of Warcraft.

EQII/WoW: The Normal preset isn't set to a specific resolution, just a way for the window to behave. It can be changed to use a specific resolution by editing it in the preferences window. By default, it just tells the window to have a border, not be locked in place, etc. Tiny is set to 256x192. Full screen does in fact go full screen. There are two additional presets, 800x600 and 1024x768, to demonstrate how to use a specific resolution with these games. These have no hotkey by default. You can switch to them by opening the game window context menu (right click on the game's title bar, or use the context menu hotkey which by default is shift+right click) and under the Presets submenu, select the name of the preset.

Ok. For some reason your normal scale is set to 9.00 which is 900%. It also has Lock Position on, which may end up confusing you. Go into the preferences window and change the Normal preset for EQ to have 1.0 scale factor and turn off lock position. Tiny and Full Screen both look fine.

You should have no problems with them when hitting the hotkeys for those presets. If the hotkeys do nothing and do not pop up text in the middle of your screen, add the line "InputDebug=1" under [General] in the wineq-eq.ini you pasted. This will cause text to pop up in the middle of the screen whenever you hit a key, except when that key is the final key of a WinEQ hotkey. Thus, hitting shift+alt+n will show you shift and alt, but not n, in the middle of the screen when pressed. Without shift and alt held down, it will show you N -- if not, let me know.
