Total system reboot crashes with both 1.X and 2.0.

Hello,

I've been trying to use WinEQ for a couple of weeks now. I get random crashes that completely reboot my system. I've had the system crash in game and just now, at log in. There doesn't seem to be any particular pattern. Sometimes it will crash quickly, other times I can play for quite a while (2hours or more).

My system specs are:

Pentium 4 3.2ghz
1.5 Gig of Ram
128K Nvidia Gforce fx 5200
Windows XP Media Center 2002 with service pack 2

I like the system but the crashes make it practically unplayable

Make sure you have vertex shaders on in Display/Advanced Options while logged into EQ

Needed SysInfo.txt rather than modules.txt for your particular problem.

As bombadil said, you probably have Vertex Shaders off and are using an NVIDIA card.

Thanks for the quick response you two. I tried the Vertex Shaders and that seems to have worked for the last hour and a half or two. Hopefully, and probably, the fix I was looking for.

Anything else to look out for with an nvidia card?

That's the only known blue screen/reboot issue besides completely running out of memory (on some systems). I had a notification in WinEQ 1.38 that warned about the Vertex Shaders setting for NVIDIA users, but it was only checking from Direct3D8 and they patched out the last bit of their DX8 engine in October. I fixed the notification in 1.38 today and the same notification is going into WinEQ 2.0 in the next day or two since the last 3 or so posts have been this issue as far as I can tell.
