OK, I haven't played in a couple of weeks using both Xylobot and WinEQ, so cannot tell exactly when this broke, BUT...
the exact same problem that I am experiencing on my main PC has now shown up on secondary PC. At the accountname/password screen, after initializing Xylobot, I lose all keyboard functions, but retain mouse functions.
PS, the 'delete EQPlayNice.ini' solution did indeed fix the black screen problem mentioned above.

Well, I downloaded Xylobot trial to try to see why it's acting up, however the trial version tells me to download the latest version and it doesnt work

Give Inner Space a shot, everything WinEQ 2.0 does can be done in Inner Space and this problem shouldn't exist with it.

If I keep this up, before long you're gonna send me money to stay away
OK, DL'd InnerSpace, installed, logged in to Lavish and set to do auto from now on. Checked out the 'manual', muddled through settings for EQ... no runny
Either docs are inadequate, or I'm too dense to figure it out.

It's well-known that the docs are not absolutely complete and other information is needed, but they wont get better unless I get feedback
Define "no runny" for me. Should I assume you got Inner Space to run and its icon is in the system tray? Does EverQuest show up in the list? Is it not loading EQ when you click "EverQuest Default Profile"?
The only setting you should be looking for initially is the EQ path. Go into the Games window, and under EverQuest Profiles go into the EverQuest Default Profile, Launch category (note: you can resize the window so you can see the tree better). Fix the path if necessary. Leave everything else default and load EQ by clicking the profile name from the tray menu.

Sorry, no intention to impugn quality of docs, was just trying to say that I couldn't figure it out without making me look too bad.
Yes, InnerSpace runs, icon shows up, path set correctly. Clicking on default everquest tab yields nothing. Checked task manager while doing it, nothing new showed up.
I'm suscribed to WinEQ2... do you have to make some server side settings changes there for me to run this?

Nope, the subscription applies to all of our products. Interesting that it does nothing when you try to load it, particularly because it does the same exact thing WinEQ does ... I'll put in an error message if it fails to run it.

I just now updated Inner Space so that it gives a message if it fails to run the program, if you want to restart IS so that it patches and try it

Done. I was in the process of installing on another PC, where it worked fine. Went back to original PC, and now it's working too.
I'll play around with them tonight.
BTW, Xylobot ran OK on the PC that has been giving me problems. Haven't had a chance to see if it operates OK, though.

OK, InnerSpace seems to work well on my main computer, although I miss the window sizing available through WinEQ2. I have not had a chance to try IS out on the secondary PC that I normally run Xylobot on, it's tied up for a few hours doing some video stuff... will try later.
In the meantime, I'll start hanging out in IS forums to see what I can learn.
Thanks for assistance and suggestions.

I had already read that thread. Unfortunately, the explanations were above my level of expertise, therefore might as well have been Greek.
Anyway, it's a minor detail. Over the course of a few weeks it'll probably come to me, as I continue to read threads.
Thanks for help.

This all sounds like great news.
I'll give this a whirl tonight as well and post back in a few days or so
