Authentication error for new account?
I just signed up a few days ago and finally got around to installing EQ2 Win on my second machine today. Within minutes I started getting a popup window telling me that I needed to authenticate. When I tried manually adding my username and pass, it was rejected with this message:
"Authentication failed (-114). You will need to successfully authenticate to use WinEQ."
Here is my info:

LAX,
I have this same issue on one PC but not another. No clue why its occuring. I checked the default profiles an options and all settings are identical. I click default profile and I see nothing happen.. If I manaully try to authenticate I get the exact error mentioned above.
However, on my other labtop I have no issues. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Rebooting etc.. no help.

I think its server -14 I am seeing and not server 14. I am fairly sure I am fully up to date on patching. (yes its XP.) I will check and verify. So this is what I am seeing.
Machine 1 Get connection error.. when I select default profile nothing happens.. however it does patch and tell me thanks for buying pro.
Machine 2 Runs just fine I just don't have enough video memory for more than 1 session.
Machine 3 Runs but I crashe verytime after I select teh EQ1 server I want.
I will check patches on all machines to make sure they are all three fully up to date.

Hello,
I am having a similar problem with the software. I'm knew to this so bare with me. I downloaded and installed. When i click the EQ2 icon on the desktop I get the message:
- Could not successfully retrieve new file LavishPatcher.exe (-20). Aborting patch. YOu may continue to use the software.
Followed by:
WinEQ was unable to initialize at thie time (-114) Please try again later.
When I right click on the tray icon and try to set up according to the helpfile, there are no branches in the preference box other than WinEQ 2.0.
When I try to log in from the tray icon I get the message:
Authentication Failed (-114). You will need to successfully authenticate to use WinEQ.
I checked my account to make sure I signed up correctly, I have the 1-year subscription.
I'm using windows Vista (new install on a brand new machine), so at first i thought it was the firewall. I disabled the firewall and there is no difference. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times just in case there was an issue there. I'd be much releived if this was a server issue. Any help would be appreciated.
