Graphic Bug with updates

Post by ronis » Sat Nov 10, 2007 11:13 am

I dont know if this is a WinEQ2Pro issue or not, but starting a couple of days ago I started getting graphic bugs in EQ1 when trying to load more than 1 eq session via WinEQ2Pro.

First, Ive never had any problems with the first session, it always loads up properly the first try.

However, loading any more than 1, Im now getting a graphic glitch that shows most of the Char Selection Screen as empty sky. I can see the char select menu and the characters name and zone, the floor, and a couple parts of the charactrer, but nearly everything else is sky.

I also notice that the Texture Memory Available and System Memory Available only constantly display Texture and System . . . the rest blink in and out randomly.

If I push past this and login, I notice just about everything in game is empty sky and EQ1 is unplayable.

Initially, I was able to fix the problem by doing a full scan, and that workd for 2 days. But now, its stopped working completely and Im unable to load more than 1 session via WinEQ2Pro. Oddly, using the standard EQ1 login process, I can box no problem.

It doesnt seem to matter how I try and login the boxes with WinEQ2Pro (either fully loading 1 at a time or getting to the EULA on all boxes before logging in or getting all boxes to the char select screen) the same result occurs, after the first session is up, all future sessions are corrupt and the original session is also corrupted.

I can email a screenshot if it helps show what is going on.

I will post my wineq.log and sysinfo.txt below

Anyone have any similar problems or know of a work around?

I have noticed
Texture Quality: INVALID VALUE 0
before, is it possible for you to rename your eqclient.ini and see if that makes any change?

It has nothing to do with wineq. This is a issue withthe fog, and dynamic lighting. When i tested on beta i had the same thing turn off the dynamic lighting in the options screen ALT+O , display tab, advanced. Also on the environment effects u can turn them off and opacity to 0 to rid urself of the fog. If u have shaders 1.1 off turn it on. Otherwise u see nothing except tree tops in some places like your floating in mid-air as you describe.

Choter,

Ive had the dynamic lighting bug that you described for a few weeks now. That was the first thing I tried, toggle it on/off repeatedly even with no results-however, that is exactly how it looks.

Thanks for the try tho.

besides the lighting, have you tried enabling the first two shader boxes from the top HW shaders, and 1.1shaders i beleive. with 1.1 shaders off my grpahics look like what you describe.

Ive reinstalled my video card drivers and the problem goes away until the next time I turn the computer off. After restarting the computer, I get the same graphical bug but it goes away with yet another graphic driver reinstall. Ive DL the drivers from nVidia several times so the DL installer cant be corrupt.

Its almost as if I had a corrupted driver and the computer is rolling back to it every time I restart my computer.

Choter,

I have all HW shader options on by default. Based on your suggestion, Ive tried toggling all of them off and on with no success.
