help with mouse

Post by crowebait » Tue Oct 30, 2007 12:09 am

need some help setting this up for two monitors, I have an sli board with 2 video cards in but not linked and a monitor on each card.

when i set one profile to launch on secondary monitor my mouse gets locked on the primary monitor and can't move it over to the secondary unless i right click on the desktop. soon as i click on the game window on secondary monitor my mouse bounces back to primary. Any way to fix this.

Trying to set this up for Everqust 2

Well, you're not supposed to drag the window to the other monitor. Doing so may cause your system to basically grind to a halt, depending on your configuration. In your case, each monitor is handled by a separate physical video card. So what happens is that you launch the game, and EQ has to pick one of the two video cards to allocate resources on for the one your launch. If you drag it to the other monitor, now it's supposed to display on a separate monitor from the one the resources are allocated on, and hardware rendering suffers greatly (it may start to get rendered by the CPU instead of your video card). For this reason, WinEQ will snap the window back to where it will get better performance.

WinEQ allows you to select the monitor in your profile. To use this feature, simply create an additional WinEQ profile for your secondary monitor. The Monitor option is right underneath Sound; by default it is set to Application Controlled.

found my problem, i had to go into nvidia settings and make eq2 program see both video cards, it was set to only see one which was making the mouse lock onto the primary monitor when you launched a session.
