I'm having the same issue. I thought it might be UI related, but realized that it's the same problem we were having earlier.
I just logged in without using WinEq and I got in fine.

Same crashed using wineq2 but also crashed on first attempt without wineq running. Then got in without it on second attempt. A friend that does not use wineq2 and several others are having crash issues at character select that don't use wineq2 also.

Looks like they rolled out a new version of eqgame.exe at the end of the patch. Maybe it has the same signature as the earlier one, but different addresses and the offsets are now wrong for eqplaynice.

yea same problem here as well. All 4 machines crashed at the same time, reloaded with winEQ and crashed again. Loaded them up without winEQ and got in.

Somebody on the EQLive forums posted a fix for some of the UI issues that have caused crashes. Has to do with your EQUI.xml file in your custom folder and the new claim window. Unfortunately, I don't have that file in my custom UI, and loading up on the default isn't a fix. Doing a complete file scan now and loading up without WinEQ2 to see if that fixes anything until WinEQ2 is patched.

They patched twice today. The first patch will get you disconnected after server select. I'm updating EQPlayNice for the second patch now, but until then it will crash. You can disable EQPlayNice in the meantime, but it should be about 5 minutes and will only require launching new sessions (the update does not require WinEQ be restarted)

The symptoms from yesterday appear to have returned with today's patch. Launching from within WinEQ gets as far as the server select screen but immediately crashes without error message when I attempt to connect to a server. Connects just fine when WinEQ is not loaded.

...I just re-read yesterday's comments. I disabled EQPlayNice and can now connect successfully, so the symptoms remain similar to yesterday's.

There was a new patch this morning on the 6th, probably has to be fixed up again for them to work.
I get same thing on both pc's here. I am sure they'll be on it soon.

The reason it's crashing is because they are compiling new builds of the EQ client, but the time and date reported by the client are the same. This is usually a rare occurrence. I removed the data for the old executables, and EQPlayNice will be up to date for the patch again shortly.
