Is WoW safe with wineq2?

Post by nightvcd » Wed Jul 25, 2007 6:47 am

So I see people using wineq2 with wow had there accounts ban then a few hours later unban. So does that mean wineq2 is safe to use again or was that blizzards way of warning us? if anyone could give a link to any official site with info on this, it would be much appreaciated.

Asking myself the same question. I've been hit for running WinEQ on the EU servers as well. Except that the EU policy for WinEQ seems to have been final warning and 3-day suspension first and not outright bans like in the US. Got a couple mails today (one for each account), and a few hours later the reversal message, but the reversal message is the one that has been quoted here already and which doesn't state whether it is now okay to use WinEQ or not.

I have a feeling they may never give a direct, official stance on WinEQ 2. The email that Venthos received does seem to imply that they are not intending to ban for using WinEQ 2 -- why else would they overturn his suspension and give him 2 extra days? Though I must admit I'm a little skeptical of whether he really got 2 days compensation.

I ALSO have a feeling that some (I'm not suggesting this number is great, just that there are likely at least a few) Blizzard employees use WinEQ 2 when they play World of Warcraft. It would be relatively humorous to hear that they banned some of their own employees, then due to employee complaints they were convinced it was a mistake.

Just checked, they were very fast on the 2 compensation days too, they are noted for my accounts already. I can only hope we're safe with WinEQ for now, because I'm really enjoying my computer not turning into a 100% CPU usage zombie every time I start up WOW ;).

I also received the same email as Venthos. Checking on my WoW account payment history, I see that they did in fact add 2 days to my next billing period.
