Secondary Hard Drive

My operating system ( WinXP Pro) is on an older 40GB hard drive. I just purchased a 7200RPM 8MB Cache 80GB hard drive. Operating system is running fine on the older HD so I'm not inclined to switch to the newer one. My question is can I run EQ1 from the 7200 RPM HD and get faster performance WITHOUT having to have the operating system on the same HD?

Yes, if you put the eq directory on the second hard drive you may see an improvement in performance. You would probably see an improvement in performace putting the swap file on the second drive as well, though I am not sure if the performace gain would be as big with both the eq directory and the swap file on the same drive.
