eqgame.exe error message

Post by tomollany » Sat Sep 23, 2006 10:54 am

Hi

I used to play EverQuest 1 up until May this year with WinEQ2 with no problems, took a break from the game, came back this week, re-activated my account both here and EverQuest1, however when I open up WinEQ2.14 (Pro) and select Everquest - WinEQ 2.0 Default profile I Immiediatly get the follwoing error appear in the standard windows blue / grey box :eqgame.exe - Entry point not found
The procedure entry point Func16 could not be located in the dyanmic link library Lavish.dll.

I am not even getting far enough in for the sysinfo log to be generated. my machine does have 2 gb ram, a AMD 64 bit processor, 256 mb gfx card and plenty of HDD.

If I load up EQ1 without WinEQ2 it works perfectly with no problems at all, but was sort of hoping to two box

Many thanks

As additional notes I totally de-installed EQWin 2 ands re-installed it (several tiems) turned off firewall and AV (just in case) several times and still no joy.

I have also re-booted several times

Do you have any other Lavish Software products running? Did you install EQPlayNice separately? The problem here is that an older Lavish.dll is present on your system and is getting loaded instead of the new one. This means that either of the following is true:
1) A Lavish product with an unpatched, older Lavish.dll is presently running on your system
2) Lavish.dll is found in additional locations on your system where it may get automatically loaded by Windows instead of the one in the WinEQ 2 folder.
