low memory warning

Post by priers » Sat Jul 29, 2006 1:35 pm

A quick question. While running 4 instances of EQ1, im getting a low memory warning. It fluctuates between that and about 5 percent RAM left. I have 4GB Ram, but only shows around 2.8G available. How would you go about freeing up RAM for the Wineq app. Thanks

Well, I cant help you with the showing 2.8GB part, but see WinEQ 2 FAQ items 3.2 and 3.3 for the answer to your question

I just installed an SLI MOBO and in the booklet it says that if you are not running in SLi mode and try to install 4 Gig of Ram the system will only show ~3Gig useable. I am not sure why or anything but thought i would pass this info on incase it applies. It recomends to use only 2 Gigs.

On the same note, when I upgraded the MObo I also built a second computer and have noticed that after running two instances on it for about 2-3 hours that my ram monitor that is in WINEQ2.0 will start to rise in utilization until i get the low mem warning. When I do CTRL+ALT+Del and check processes the Services.msc aplication is using 200-300k MB when it usually runs in the 3-5k on the other computer that is very similar. I have no isea why or what that means but am looking into it. If I exit EQ and reload EQ via wineq2.0 the services/msc appy is again at a more normal level or 3-5k mb.
