Error issues

Post by kteter » Mon Feb 27, 2006 4:01 pm

I have a desktop and a laptop computer, the desktop works fine, but on the laptop when i load up wineq2 and run my profile and try to log in to everquest i get the following message "The version of messaging being used is not the same between client and server. this is most likely the result of the client/andor server being patched. please try repatching the client in order to correct the issue."

I tried patching everquest, and all of the files were good even when i did a complete file check, i also tried reinstalling wineq2 and i still get this problem.

Everquest works on the laptop when I do not use wineq2.

Any ideas?

This sounds exactly like the classic case of having two EQ folders and not realizing that you're patching the wrong one. Instead of patching manually, enable patching through the WinEQ 2 profile you are launching, and patch that way

i enabled the patcher throw wineq2 and now its downloading files.

This is weird to me as I checked and there is only 1 directory with everquest in it.

The wineq2 points to the same directory the regular everquest program points to.

Now just to wait for the 2 and a half hours of patching to finish.

Thanks
