Lax,
I would post this under the EQ PN board, but it keeps telling me i need special privelages to view that board. I registered for a lavish software subscription so that i could use it when prompted to input a user/pw when i start eqw. After i type in my info, it fails and a message like this comes up :
Authentication failed (-10057). You will need to successfully authenticate and restart the game.
What am i doing wrong?

I'm getting this from BOTH eqplaynice *AND* wineq... It happens about 80% of the time. I haven't been able to get more than ONE session of EQ running at one time...
Hmmm... where's that copy of EQWindows I used to use...

This is a windows sockets error, and I am working on solving the problem.
More specifally, your computer prematurely disconnected from our license server.

I was wondering if maybe my firewall may have been messing things up, but it sounds like you have it under control.... looking forward to the patch...

I haven't ruled out that possibility yet, but I dont think that's what it is. A very minor portion of the population is experiencing this issue but I will be in contact with a network specialist at Microsoft to get this solved

I didn't modify anything
You may experience this issue still sometimes. I'll be working on making sure it no longer happens. Glad to hear it worked for you at least once. Did you change anything to make it work? If it was something on your end please share so the others can also have this solved

I have downloaded te program several times. I still get the message that I need to authenticate and it will not work. I run on dsl. I also turn off my firewall when playing eq. This problem happens in play nice and win eq.

Hello, I have this problem solved and I will have a new version of both EQPlayNice and WinEQ up shortly. Thank you for your patience while I finish up
