Development Update 10/2/2004

Post by Lax » Sat Oct 02, 2004 10:17 am

We have changed our plan for Fury alpha. Originally, the first alpha release was going to be this week and have very limited functionality. Because this limited functionality would not do Fury justice, and because of the expectations of our users, we are going to take our time and get Fury ready for a much better showing for its alpha release. It is a very complex program and needs more development time to get some systems ready.

We do have other tricks up our sleeve. In addition to working hard on Fury, we have been developing our next generation WinEQ, tentatively called WinEQ 2.0. The new system allows us to add support for many new games through a single interface. It is currently working and under initial testing for EverQuest II and World of Warcraft, as well as Warcraft III (after hours fun :) ). We know that many of you will want to help test, but we still have much work to do and will not have WinEQ 2.0 up for testing for another week or two. Sorry! :)

During the month of October, we will be working heavily on WinEQ 2.0 and Fury, and will hopefully have both released long before the new games (EQII and WoW) are retail. I apologize for pushing Fury back even further -- the basics are ready but would not be very fun for you to test at this point. We are excited about our new products and we know you will be too!
