WinEQ Feature Freeze, Fury expected soon

Post by Lax » Sun Sep 19, 2004 6:25 pm

WinEQ is currently on feature freeze, meaning the only new additions for the time being will be bug fixes.

Fury is still under development and the first alpha release is expected soon (development time will now be focused on Fury at least until the alpha release, and "soon" means probably 1-2 weeks), but will be limited to subscribers and specifically invited people. Please be aware that the Fury alpha is *not* going to be fully featured. There are big plans for Fury, but we must start with the basics for the alpha phase. Additionally, Fury will be programmable like EQWatcher was, except much different. Rather than a scripting language, Fury will use DLL plugins, some of which will probably be open source on a limited license. The core functionality for EQ or other games during the initial alpha phase will be quite boring.

Once Fury is well into Alpha or Beta phases, WinEQ will be rewritten from the ground up (but will retain the current feature set and most of the available settings) and will be much more easily adaptable to new games.
