Coming soon from Lavish Software

Post by Lax » Fri Jun 27, 2008 11:16 am

It's been a while since our last exciting news, so here's an update on what's going on behind the scenes at Lavish.

The Inner Space 2 Engine
For the last few months, we have been hard at work developing our next generation of the Inner Space engine. The Inner Space 2 Engine will be available for middleware licensing later this year, enabling independent software vendors (ISVs) to build products upon the next generation of our tried and true technology, without requiring their end users to run Inner Space, let alone have a Lavish Software account. Engine licensees will enjoy ease of development with our new API and a level of control that is unrivaled by current Inner Space products.

Cerberus
Our next generation of WinEQ 2, code-named Cerberus (final name subject to change), is being built with the Inner Space 2 Engine. Cerberus will bring a host of new features and ease of use to the WinEQ series, including the commonly requested ability to relay keystrokes to other sessions.

Cerberus Beta is planned to be available for paying Lavish Software subscribers later this summer. More information about Cerberus will be made available in the coming weeks, stay tuned!

Inner Space 2
Inner Space 2 is also on its way, being built with the Inner Space 2 Engine -- Surprise! Inner Space 2 is planned to support Inner Space 1 applications (scripts, etc) through a compatibility layer, though technologies like (e.g.) LavishScript and LavishGUI will otherwise be excluded from Inner Space 2 in favor of more agnostic or standard technologies. .NET application developers will enjoy finer-grained synchronization, meaning that applications should run faster than their Inner Space 1 counterparts in many cases.

For the average user, Inner Space 2 is planned to make your life easier than with Inner Space 1. A new front-end will allow you to quickly search for applications to download, as well as keep them updated. Configuration will be done through a much cleaner and easier to use interface. We are working diligently to crush any learning curves for the average user, and ensure the best possible experience for our customers.

Inner Space 2 Beta is planned to be available for paying Lavish Software subscribers later this summer. Information on Inner Space 2 can be found [[Inner Space 2|here]].

Fury
Our Fury product line initially had a false start, and is not currently supported officially. We apologize for the inconvenience to those affected.

Fury was our next generation of EQWatcher, an EverQuest log parser that I distributed as freeware to lots of EverQuest players, and is still available at www.eqwatcher.com. Fury will be re-evaluated later this year, and we may yet produce a brand new generation of it!

Website improvements
Our website is due for a complete overhaul! Much of the back-end work for our new site is already completed, and the look and feel is in development. Navigation of the site will be much improved over the current site, and will offer many new features.

One such new feature we are looking forward to is the ability to add virtual sub-accounts to any Lavish Software account. This will allow customers to legitimately share their Lavish Software account with others in a way that cannot compromise the account.

We are also implementing a new referral and affiliate system that will allow referrers to earn cash, rather than just more subscription time!

Investor info
Lavish Software, LLC is fully owned, controlled and operated by me, Joe Thaler (aka Lax), carries no debt, and is my full time job. We are working hard to advance our technology and talent, and expand our team.
