The move was expected to come at a slightly different time, so our backup server for the software authentication was unfortunately not available for a few hours during the downtime -- I sincerely apologize for that. I was unaware of the downtime until I arrived home from a family dinner, at which time the backup server was immediately fixed, and the software was once again available for 99% of our customers to use with no problems.
Sorry for any inconvenience this temporary outage may have caused. It was announced with as much advance warning as we received (though our users rarely read our news and are highly likely to post about it even after this announcement
