Nope, I spoke too soon. Can't get Num-5 working at all now (I had focus on the session before... d'oh).

Any suggestions?

Somebody snuck a sneaky fix in with the last update ;-)

Keypad 5 now works with the expected syntax of:

Code: Select all

bind -press num5 "Num 5" relay Lunnolax press -hold "Num 5"
bind -release num5b "Num 5" relay Lunnolax press -release "Num 5"

No rush bud, family comes first. Like I said I have a workaround. Good to hear you know what it is though :)

Lax, I'll keep an eye on this topic and help as much as I can. Grubb, just post here if you're still struggling and I'll try to talk you through it.

PS. Nearly forgot: When the game is going to crash on launch, there's a noticable delay. I normally get the first EQ spash screen 2-3 seconds after launching it from IS. If it's going to crash there's a 10-15 second delay, then I get a login prompt or crash message.

Intermittent crashing with EQPlayNice and Innerspace

Heya, Following on from the discussion in this thread: http://www.lavishsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3728. I appreciate this could be a horrible bug to track down, and that you're most likely busy. I do have a workaround that so far gets me working again every time (details at the bottom). I'm fin...

Ok, re-installing WinEQ2 didn't solve the crashing, but re-installing InnerSpace afterwards did seem to cure it. I'm getting occasional EQPlayNice timeouts if I tab to something else while launching the 2nd session, but I I don't think there's any pressing need for you to look into that - it seems t...

Bleh, EQPlayNice was what I meant. Sorry, not used to thinking of it as separate from WinEQ :-) I was actually trying that yesterday having seen you say the same to somebody else (in a 2005 thread lol), but WinEQ has been crashing every time I attempt it. I'll re-install both programs tonight and se...

Thanks, I must have missed that setting while looking through all this, I'll go create a 2nd profile tonight. That resizing feature sounds perfect too, I thought it switched the game to full screen mode, didn't realise it just resizes it. Do you know if there's any way I can run WinEQ2 inside Inners...

lol, think I just found it. There's a setting in EQ1 'allow window resizing'. On a hunch I enabled that and shrunk the window down so it fits perfectly in screen 1. As soon as I did that the frame rates shot up and I'm getting a solid 45fps. Still getting slower results than WinEQ2 with both account...

Ok, after reading that thread I've done some more testing. It seems it is the DirectX problem after all. I loaded WinEQ2 instead of Innerspace, and loaded both characters from there. Even with dual screen mode active it worked perfectly with frame rates as high as 45fps. However both sessions were r...

Well I found out what's causing the problem and it does seem to be linked to Innerspace. It wasn't drivers or a patch though, it's enabling dual screen mode on my graphics card  Without Innerspace, EQ runs fine whether I'm running in single or dual screen mode. Innerspace however, with just a...

Aaaah, got it :) Thanks for that script, helped a ton. I tested that to show that with numlock off it shows up as 'Clear', with it on as 'NUM 5', although 'Clear' isn't an option that appears in 'bind -keylist'. Since IS is obviously picking it up, I then tried binding both 'NUM 5' and 'Clear' to th...

Well it's not working with num lock on or off here. I'm using a logitech wireless keyboard, so there's every change Logitech have done something clever.

Is there any way for me to get Innerspace to show the key code it's detecting as I press the key?

Thanks, let me know if there's anything I can troubleshoot this end. The thing that strikes me as odd though is the way it's reported in "bind -list". Num+5 seems to be recorded completely differently to the other keys: [ctrlnum2] [CTRL+NUM 2] Command (Release): relay "Lunnolax" "press" "ctr...
