I'm thinking more and more that it's a combination of some setting on my computer that hasn't been figured out yet, or just that Sony goes further than preferring NVidia. I think Sony actively hates ATI. Now I'm getting graphics glitches where whole swaths of the geometry go white (or more rarely bl...

Thank you. To the first poster; yes, I did look at the wiki. That's why I said - and I quote - "I have looked through dozens of wiki articles". Lax - thank you...that's the kind of info I was looking for. I was apparently perceiving IS and ISBoxer incorrectly. I thought I could do the same thing wit...

IS newb unable to find ANYTHING helpful

I'm trying to set up Inner Space essentially for the first time. I have looked through dozens of wiki articles, searched for a FAQ, even browsed every single forum subject in this forum, and NOTHING is giving me the most basic instructions for setting up Inner Space. All I want to do is set up profi...

That's what I was afraid you were gonna say. Unfortunately, I live in the wilds of Alaska (no, really) and can't just tromp over to my neighborhood Best Buy and pick up a new copy of Windows. I can't really afford to do that anyway. :(

Update! (Lax, I know you're moving, don't stress over getting back to me...just wanted to post this before I forgot. Make sure you take some time to relax, yes!) Ok, I copied my EQ directory to a different hard drive and tried to run a session from each installation - one from Drive C: one from Driv...

It hadn't occurred to me to check the motherboard drivers. I have my video drivers up to date, though. Thought of that all ready...most recent one is installed.

Update: This is still a problem, both in WinEQ and InnerSpace. Today, I moved the EQClient files (all the ones that had eqclient in the name) and re-patched. The second instance of EQ still went away after loading the server, but at least this time I got an error popup..."Reset Device Failed!" was a...

Well, from what I can gather on Sony's tech support forums this is an EQ problem, not a WinEQ problem. Whatever the case, it's rare.

And frustrating, as Sony won't intentionally do anything to solve it - their official stance is that multiple sessions on a single computer is 'not supported'. *sigh*

Sorry, I meant to give more information. I'm playing from a single installation of EQ (one folder), and the second instance appears to load normally until I select the server I want to play on. The loading screen comes up, then poof, the window closes and there's no hint of a second instance of EQ a...

Can only play single instance of EQ

After uninstalling and deleting all files in my WinEQ folder, then downloading and installing anew, I'm able to play EverQuest...but only one account/window at a time. ==================================== WinEQ 2 System Information System: ----------------------------------- Windows Version: Microso...

Uninstalled WinEQ, and deleted every file in the folder, then re-downloaded and installed. Set up my first profile and it's working fine so far.

Did every kind of scan I can think of (spyware, viruses, trojans, etc) and nothing came up but one tracking cookie, which I promptly fixed. EQ is still closing itself as soon as I run any profile on WinEQ. As I stated before, I can run EQ without WinEQ just fine. How do I tell if they changed someth...

I'm wondering if EQ did something overnight that is interacting oddly with WinEQ, because NOTHING else was running when I tried to open my first profile today. Just did a scan too :(

Unable to play Everquest

I was able to play a single instance of Everquest yesterday with WinEQ, but unable to play a second instance. Today, I can't even play one instance with WinEQ. I just get the general error from Windows saying that the program has encountered a problem and needs to close (no specifics). =============...

I need to apologise for my earlier post. I was very upset and had no call to accuse Lavish of 'screwing' anyone. Please accept my humble apologies.
