Hence the reason this is in the EQPN Lite forums
The problem, however, remains a specific point, that WinEQ .992 provokes an "incorrect version" response from EQPN whereas later versions do not. I assume it won't be resolved

Yup. This is all on the same machine, no relaunching of EQPN, just relaunching WinEQ. With .992 I get the error, with .995 I get none (and its working) Its nice to know you didn't do it intentionally. I have no problems with you making your money, I'm just not sure I'm enjoying the way features are ...

the subject says it all. Have you intentionally crippled eqpn so that it won't run with wineq .992 (the last non-crippled WinEQ)?
To clarify, when I run WinEQ .992 EQPN gives a "you must update EQ" error msg, when I relaunch with WinEQ .995 or higher, there is no error.
