That was the problem. Somehow, the shortcut was pointing to Sony\Everquest\backup, while WinEQ was still pointing toSony\Everquest. I'm back in business.

Before the most recent patch, all was fine. Since the patch, I can successfully launch Everquest outside of WinEQ. When launched within WinEQ however, when it appears that the character select screen is about to pop, I receive "You Have Been Disconnected" and am returned to the server select screen....

Guess I got caught in the download shuffle. I waited out a four hour full download and all is now in order.

The symptoms from yesterday appear to have returned with today's patch. The symptoms from yesterday appear to have returned with today's patch. Launching from within WinEQ gets as far as the server select screen but immediately crashes without error message when I attempt to connect to a server. Connects just fine when WinEQ is not loaded.

...is it my problem or are others having difficulty as well?
