yes I forgot to mention in origonal post that it does only happen while running wineq, its very odd as it does not happen all the time or at any sort of interval,, sometimes it will lock right as soon as the rain starts, sometimes it will wait a while after rain starts and sometimes it will not lock...

ok this is going to sound weird but when running single or multiple windows in everquest 1 I have random lockup problems when it begins to rain in a zone. the window locks up and then subsequently get a client crash.
