I've been having this problem as well, the random freezes that is. After reading through these posts I've realized that it does always occur when I switch to a non-EQ window, such as Internet Explorer.

Damn I'm good =) Already tried it since my last post and it seemed to stop the problem. All the times before it must have happened when my mouse was over the buff window and I alt-tabbed.

Ok it's working better but i'm still getting occasional crashes now. It seems to happen when alt-tab'ing now only, but it's not everytime. If you say the subscriber version has no problems I guess I'm forced to buy again =)

This occurs for me on 3 different systems. It happens when I have multiple accounts logged in, and it happens with just 1 instance of EQ. When using alt + tab to switch windows it occurs intermittently. But if you use ALT within the window for an EQ command, such as ALT + O for options, or ALT over ...

I'm having the exact same problem. It occurs on 3 different systems I have, 1 using same video card as the initial guy, one with geforce 6600, and on x800 gto radeon. Sorry I don't have system into txt to show, but just figured one more person having this issue might help in getting resolved.

It does however still appear to be patching. Main site says all servers up, but when using regular eq, and not wineq I still can't login - 'login servers down for patch' it says.

This version of EverQuest is not currently supported by EQPlayNice.
