From the look of it the first dx9 dll they put up on the patch server was bad. If you repatch and get the new one you should be fine. Servers are up, EQ and WinEQ seem to be working fine now.

Generally when I want to log off a boxed toon, I gate them and then right click the window's bar in the taskbar and then click close to exit out while they're zoning to bind.
