Scan for viruses and spyware with popular, well known solutions. Unpopular solutions or downloads from non-trusted sites are risky and may contain viruses or spyware themselves. I have some free recommendations for you:
Free and good virus scanning: AVG Free - http://free.grisoft.com/
Also free+good virus scanning (this one doesn't require you to install a virus scanner): Trend Micro House Call - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Free and good spyware scanning: Windows Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/securit ... fault.mspx
Also free+good spyware scanning: Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
Also, try shutting down ANY AND ALL running software to make sure that it it not interfering. Common culprits include internet security products such as personal firewall, or even some new AOL product.

Well, all I can really tell you is that something is either preventing you from connecting to our server on port 11500, or blocking WinEQ from connecting. Generally this is because of a firewall. All I (or anyone else like fearless) can do is make guesses as to the setup of your computer and home network.
From your previous posts, it sounds like you didn't scan for malware. Definitely good to do that. I assume you're using Windows XP, did you install Service Pack 2? if not, do so. Without SP2 I can't guarantee the software will even work for you in the first place.
Past that, really the only thing I can think of is firewall, either software on your computer or perhaps your home router is blocking outgoing port 11500.

Well, all day yesterday I couldt log into the log in server for eq2...and vanguard started messing up to...tried forwarding the ports and everything for them, still nothing...anyways, I got mad and I Formatted my comp and reinstalled XP...just downloaded WINEQ2 again...patching for eq2...and wineq2 is runnin and downloaded some stuff as I type this...so I guess there was something blocking these programs..
I'm having same exact problem he described, no firewall installed.
I tried the first time and it prompted me for username/password on this site. Having originally gotten wineq 18 months ago, I didn't know it. So I used an alternate email address and started a new one and stupidly I guess clicked the LOG ME IN EVERY TIME box. So now I don't get that prompt, I just get the error 13 msg. I completely deleted wineq from the compuer, re-installed it, and get the same thing, no prompt, just the error message.

This is unfortunately almost guaranteed to be other software on your computer or something else on your network. The lavish servers handle thousands of connections an hour.

Uninstalling WinEQ 2 does not remove your Lavish Software account information from the Windows Registry. If you want to remove it, remove HKLM\Software\Lavish Software
However, the real issue is exactly the same as the original poster on this thread, and fortunately it was not stupid of you to check the box to log you in every time. If it were an issue with the account (such as the wrong username or password), you would get re-prompted for your information. But since it's not, and your error is the inability to connect to our server in the first place, that's really not an issue.
Please follow the suggestions given to the original poster. You may not have a firewall installed, but Windows comes with one and that may be the one blocking WinEQ. If you're using Windows XP and not patched up to SP2, then you need to install SP2 before you do anything else.
