Overview
This feature is limited to Gaming Tools Pro subscribers
A preset is a set of characteristics that can be applied to any WinEQ 2 session at any time. Depending on the game, a few presets are defined by default, including Normal, Tiny and Full Screen. For games that have more flexible size capabilities (EverQuest 2 and World of Warcraft), 800x600 and 1024x768 presets are also available by default. Each game can have up to 10 presets.
Preset Usage
A preset is used automatically when launching a session via a profile. Profiles have a "Default Preset" setting that can be set to the desired preset.
Presets can be applied manually to any session by using the preset's hotkey, or by right clicking the title bar and selecting the desired preset from the Presets submenu. The default hotkeys are as follows:
- Normal
- Shift+Alt+N
- Full Screen
- Shift+Alt+F
- Tiny
- Shift+Alt+T
- 800x600
- NONE
- 1024x768
- NONE
Preset Characteristics
- Name
- Name to give this preset. Without a name, the preset will not be available for use.
- Hotkey
- Key combination, if any, to activate this preset. If you do not wish to have a hotkey for activating the preset, set this to NONE.
- X Position
- The X position to place the viewable part (not including title bar or borders) of the window. The X position starts at the left side of your screen and is measured in pixels
- Y Position
- The Y position to place the viewable part (not including title bar or borders) of the window. The X position starts at the top of your screen and is measured in pixels
- Scale Factor
- The scale factor to apply to the window. The actual size of the window will be multiplied by this number, so 0.5 will be half the size in each direction, and 2.0 will be twice the size in each direction. (Applies to DAOC, EQ, WC3)
- Width
- The width in pixels to apply to the viewable area of the window, or 0 to leave the original width. (Applies to EQ2, WoW)
- Height
- The height in pixels to apply to the viewable area of the window, or 0 to leave the original width. (Applies to EQ2, WoW)
- Full Screen
- Emulates full screen. The viewable area of the window is scaled to full screen size, giving the appearance of playing in full screen mode, with the benefits of playing in windowed mode
- Auto Release
- This characteristic no longer applies and should be removed
- Border
- Enables or disables the border around the window, as well as the title bar
- Always On Top
- Windows that are always on top will always be kept on top of every window that is not always on top
- Lock Position
- Enable to prevent the window from being moved
- Lock Size
- Enable to prevent the window from being resized. When this is enabled, the window border will be thin, and the window will be above the Windows task bar. When this is disabled, the window may be beneath the Windows task bar.
