The Quick Setup Wizard will help perform your initial ISBoxer configuration. If used for World of Warcraft, it can create everything you need to start playing, in under one minute. For any other game, it will walk you through creating your Team of characters with a given Window Layout using basic settings -- all that will be left to do is set up some hotkeys.

Under Construction

This page is actively under construction. If the information you need is not described here, please let us know. The Quick Setup Wizard is pretty easy to get through, so most of the information we will be providing on this page is what to do after using it.

The Quick Setup Wizard

The Quick Setup Wizard is found from the Wizards menu in ISBoxer.

Page 1: Game

On this page, your game is identified in two different ways. The first is for ISBoxer's use. Selecting a game from the first drop-down box will enable ISBoxer to select and/or show options that may be specific to your game. The second way is for Inner Space. This will tell it what to launch when you select your team from the launch menu.

Page 2: Characters

This is the page that lets you select or enter the names of the characters you would like to play together. Enter them in the order that you will be logging into them in the game.

Page 3: Team

Here you enter a name for your team of characters.

Page 4: Window Layout

This page will let you optionally select a Window Layout style, generated based on your screen configuration and how many characters you will be playing together. Style 1 is typically used for single monitor, and style 2 is typical for dual monitors (with a single monitor PC, style 2 will not be available). Style 1 has a few options you can play with, and watch the preview pane to see the difference. The "I want session 1 to have its own inactive slot" option adds an extra region for use when the character in slot 1 is not the active (hot) character. Without it, slot 1 will fill in the "hole" left by whichever window switched to the main region. Otherwise, this page should be very self explanatory. You can make changes to the Window Layout later if you don't like the specific layout selected, or opt out of creating a Window Layout for now if you prefer.

Game-specific Wizard pages

Certain games have additional options, based on the built-in ways the game is able to be customized. World of Warcraft provides an assortment of goodies including a highly configurable Addon system, macro system and key bindings. ISBoxer is able to put all of these features to use by generating its own Addon! As ISBoxer moves forward, we will include similar functionality for other games, as allowed by the game itself.

World of Warcraft

Page 2: WoW Characters

For World of Warcraft, the Characters page has additional functionality. ISBoxer will try to detect characters you have played on your PC, and list them for you. Clicking one will fill in the name entry boxes on the right, or double-clicking will add it to the list.

Page 5: Other WoW Options

Page 5 will optionally create default Key Maps for you, including Action Bar hotkeys that automatically broadcast and assist the active (hot) character.

Default Hotkeys

Note: On non-US keyboards, the Hotkeys may be slightly different. You can see the actual Hotkeys through the ISBoxer interface.

Depending on the options selected on the WoW Options page in the Wizard, the following Key Maps are created:

  • General
    • Alt+F: Follow Me (F for "Follow")
    • Shift+Alt+D: Dance with my target (D for "Dance")
    • Shift+Alt+I: Invite Others (I for "Invite")
    • Ctrl+Space: Make others jump
  • Action Bars ("FTL DPS Keys")
    • 1 through =: Your Action Bar buttons, except with auto-assist
  • Control
    • Shift+Alt+R: Toggle Keyboard and Mouse broadcasting (R for "Repeat")
    • Shift+Alt+M: Toggles non-control Key Maps (M for "Maps")

Some hotkeys have been omitted from the list, but can of course be viewed through the ISBoxer interface.
