Everquest 2 patch causing problems with WinEQ2 + Innerspace

Post by dodecadom » Wed Jun 13, 2012 11:47 am

Todays Everquest 2 patch has made WinEQ2 nonfunctional for this game..no throttling..no windowing..no Ctl-alt-n keys. Essentially WinEQ2 seems to be competely unaware of Everquest 2 instances.

Since Innerspace partipates in opening the game window things are not quite so bad..there is throttling..there is windowing..windows are named with ctl-alt-n tags but the keys to not actually work to switch windows. Have not tried other functions.

Thanks

Same thing is happening to me but it looks like it's WinEQ2 that may be the issue. My global activation keys weren't working so I went in and tried to change them - neither the CTRL or ALT keys will work when trying to input a new sequence. They show to be set as CTRL+ALT+1, etc but once deleted you can't replicate.

I've tried everything I can think of - has anyone found a workaround to getting the global activation keys to work?

Okay...

Running EQ2 through WinEQ 2 is working fine here. No trouble with global activation keys.

The only thing that comes to mind as far as Shift working but not Ctrl or Alt is that you might need to use the key name according to your keyboard driver/input language. At the top of the WinEQ 2 preferences window is a "Key Name List" box which lists the names of the keys that can be used in the box

Still not working for me - I made no changes to WinEQ til I started having issues. It's like the game is not recognizing WinEQ - it just starts a regular EQ2 instance - not in a window, just as if I'd have started it from the EQ2 icon. I'm not certain of the day this would have started - I hadn't played for a while.

It is even ignoring presets - screensizes - it's got the SOE build# on the bar, just as if I hadn't used WinEQ.

I'm playing on Test btw - not sure that makes any difference. Hasn't before.

1. Try disabling the Patch option (set it to OFF) in your EQ2 profile in the WinEQ 2 preferences

2. Try shutting down Steam. Or worst case, install it without Steam? (I say this because the steam API is loaded according to your sysinfo.txt, and Steam will affect WinEQ 2 compatibility)

Steam = evil - I don't use it.

Patch is off - I patch using the standalone game, then shut it down and use WinEQ to play. It's how I've always done it.

This is slowly driving me insane - I made no changes to anything, just tried playing the other day and bam, grief.

This is from my files, patch changes on the 13th. Wineq2 was working great until this patch occurred. May help figure out why it stopped working. I have deleted all the files and redone update and no hotkeys still arent working.

No, WinEQ doesn't work with EQ2 at all anymore. ISBoxer still does, so far.
