You fixed the mouse but please help with crashing :(

Post by Fremder » Fri Nov 11, 2005 2:52 pm

I'm having trouble with WinEQ 1.38. I had the same no mouse problem since the 27th patch but that was fixed when I started it up recently. I tried to log in and got this error.

" Eqgame.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Debug / Close "
I will crash to desktop because of this error every time I try to load into the game Everquest 1.

vvVHere's my log fileVvv

If you can get me information from the error report that pops up, that would be great. If there's a "more info" link you can click or anything that you can get a crash address from, that helps, and if you know how to use the Debug button to get the same information, that would help too. Best case scenario, you could get me the call stack, but if you dont know that much, dont worry too much about that.

Not sure about error message

Post by Fremder » Fri Nov 11, 2005 9:52 pm

I re-ran it and I actually made it in game, I ran around for a minute, went to the bank, then set out to zone out of pok, right when I got to the stone I wanted to zone out at I froze and crashed, same error message, I hit Debug and it just closed. No new window popped up. I don't have my popup blocker on atm either. Not sure how to help you figure this out. Any other info I can get you would be a pleasure. Let me know.

I failed to even make it to the character select screen, this is the "details" info:
EQGAME caused an invalid page fault in
module WINEQ.DLL at 0167:690104b2.

Stack dump:

On a side note, my mouse isnt really working at least as far as I got into EQ. Its there now and the new big golden colored thing but it doesnt let me push any buttons. I tabbed thru to log in but, as I said, never made it to character select so I dont know if it worked beyond that.

I'd gather the other system info you ask for when someone posts but I just spent about 17 hours "fixing" my system after updating video drivers as recommended by EQ (what a mess that turned out to be) and I'd really like to get some game time in.
I'll try again later sometime when I've regained some patience needed

Thanks Markorius, that was enough information to fix this crash issue. This issue is fixed as of a patch just now :)
