Urgent: Version update

Post by Baxs » Wed Mar 15, 2017 4:29 pm

With today's patch you can not log into the game with WinEQ2 loaded. Since it does not detect and offer a new version number for EQPlaynice, I assume something else has changed.

Thanks in advance!

Lax made an update a couple of hours ago, so its a bit odd that its not working..

I also cannot get into Everquest. Actually, I cannot make it to the character select screen. Launch WinEQ profile, accept EULA, enter login info, choose a server, EQs newest splash screen appears with the typical cheeky messages on the lower marqee, and then I am met with a black disconnect screen. I never see the character select screen.

I can log into the game while not using WinEQ without any problem.

Still experimenting.[/b]

To clarify, it seems unrelated to EQPlayNice. When I launch WinEQ, the usual update screen flashes so I recognize that Lax's patch day update was processed normally.

For future reference, this is in fact related to EQPlayNice, and if this happens again, the workaround is to disable EQPlayNice.

I have disabled the current EQPN update while I work out a fix.

This should now be fixed. No action should be necessary, it should just work next time you launch the game.
