CTRL / ALT keys sticking when switching sessions in IS

Post by iluvseq » Tue May 16, 2006 8:24 am

If I launch two sessions of EQ1, and switch between them using ctrl+alt+1 / ctrl+alt+2, the alt key (and sometimes ctrl as well, but only intermittently) gets "stuck". I have to press alt again after switching to "unstick" it.

This is with the current dev version of IS.

Switch to Virtual Input system in game configuration, it should work perfectly for EQ1.

This is an artifact of the changes I made yesterday to make alt+code work ;) I'll get it fixed.

I turned on the Virtual Input system, and now I cannot switch between sessions using ctrl-alt-1 / ctrl-alt-2 any longer. Those keys do nothing. ctrl-alt-X and ctrl-alt-Z still work to switch between sessions (and cause ctrl/alt to become stuck, just like the old input system).

Additionally, fullscreen mode no longer resizes the EQ windows to fullscreen (instead of 1280x1024, it goes to 1280x1009, leaving a 16 pixel view of the desktop below the game window)

Prior to turning on the Virtual Input system, full screen was full screen.

This is with IS v1.07 build 3982

Build 3983 may fix your issue with the bottom of the screen.

I will look into these issues, thank you

It doesn't.

Switching from "Normal" to "Full Screen" (Alt-Shift-N vs. Alt-Shift-F) doesn't change the resolution at all, it stays 1280x1009 Viewable. All it does is shift the window from 7, -14 to -3, -24 (ie: it moves it so that the top and side window decorations aren't visible, just the lower 15 pixels of the screen)

v1.07 build 3983

Addendum: this only happens from the character select screen onward.

The main login screen goes into full screen mode just fine.

However, once you've selected a server, even if you are in full screen, it does a "switch" and redraws the window (switching back into "Normal" mode) and from that point onward, Full screen mode behaves as I note above.

As an aside, is there a way to make Full screen the default?

Same way you can set everything else default. Plop it at the end of your startup sequence -- in the game configuration for EQ in IS, click Startup Sequence, click Insert, give it a name and a command and hit apply. The bind shift+alt+f simply executes the "fullscreen" alias, added in the default startup script along with the bind itself. So, add the command "fullscreen" to your startup sequence for EQ, and that should do it.
