Alt+tab

when using IS i can't alt+tab out of the game is there another command to use

No, and Inner Space actually doesn't change any of the game's windowing behavior. Are we talking about WoW? You can set the game itself to windowed mode, and then hit shift+alt+f for inner space to make it the size of your full screen, then you can alt+tab all you want
