House of Thule/Underfoot Client - Characters "Crabwalki

Post by kingmen30264 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:06 am

Hello everyone, I am new here to these boards, but I have been a long time user of WinEQ2 (Since 2004), and I have just now run into an issue with WinEQ2. I have already deduced that WinEQ2 is the issue as I have tried the same instance that I am about to post, outside of WinEQ2.

I used to run Titanium for the longest, and then I decided I would update to Seeds of Destruction (SoD), and so I played on it for a couple of years enjoying it. However, it has now to come time for me to upgrade my client to Underfoot/House of Thule in order to play, and it seems that I have fallen in between a rock and a hard place (so to speak).

Each time I load my alt-boxes, and I tell them to follow, they seem to "Crabwalk"... I know this seems "odd", but it is true, I assure you. They will continue to sidle side to side until I am on their client, and give them time to "re-adjust" their view(s)... Otherwise they try walking backwards, or side to side, and cannot seem to find "me".

If it helps any, here is the SysInfo.txt

Posted below are videos showing my problem. The only thing that I changed about the titles was I added "With" and "Without WinEQ2".... The rest is correct, Date and Time format.... I used Bandicam to record these, and where it shows (in With WinEQ) where it is "Freezing"/"Stopping", that is where I was flipping between my alts and allowing them to focus on me.

With WinEQ2

Without WinEQ2

I am not saying there is anything wrong with WinEQ2, although I am sure that I am missing something somewhere, and if someone wouldn't mind helping me with this issue, then that would be wonderful.

I can play EQ without using WinEQ2, but, as stated above, it makes it kind of difficult to try and keep in mind which icon belongs to whom.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I know it is long, and I do not intend on making it longer. I was simply trying to put in all the information that might be requested, beforehand.

Sincerely,
Kingmen30264

P.S. Thanks for making such a wonderful boxing tool. It has helped out a lot over the years.

Have you tried disabling EQPlayNice entirely, in the WinEQ 2 Preferences? You have *ahem* another FPS limiter.

Yes, I just got done turning off eqplaynice (and restarting wineq2)... and you think that MQ2 could be the issue? I know they have their own version of FPS Limiter, but I have always had that set at around 200 ( I know it's out there).... Let me try turning that off, and having them /follow me...

EQPlaynice is on, no MQ2, and I was using /follow instead of /stick, and they seemed to be following me just fine... however my clients contain a lot more lag, and kept my CPU at around 80% usage, causing a great deal of lag.

I will keep working on a few more things on me end, and see if I can't get it tweaked out.

Thanks for your response.

For the lagging issue... I forgot that last night I redid my system, and since the install was of Window 7... it automatically uses Aero.... So that solved the "laggy" issue.... but I am working on the rest of it now.

Just an update... before I have to leave for some real life stuff....

1) I tried it with EQPlaynice disabled, and MQ2 running.
2) I tried it with EQPlaynice enabled, and MQ2 running with FPS limiter disabled.

Appreciate all of the help so far, and I am sorry for being a nuisance in all of this.... but I like the program, and I don't wish to settle for something else after all this time hehe.

Thanks again,

Nothing other than what has already been stated.

What is the current FPS in the windows that are "crab walking"? It is expected that the FPS is too low for those windows to properly follow, and the solution is to improve the FPS.

Problem Fixed !!!!

It was mq2moveutils.ini

Had to add;

WinEQ=on
TrueHeading=off

to the [Defaults] section.
