problem loading multiple instances

Post by neupongen01 » Sat Nov 12, 2011 4:51 pm

Hello,

I usually run 5-6 instances on my computer using wineq 2.0 lite and never had an issue doing so, but recently whenever I try to load 2 or more, usually after 3 or more instances, some of the instances "black out". Sometimes this occurs trying to load into the game, sometimes it occurs 10-15 minutes after game play.

I am pretty sure the problem is Wineq related as I tried running 6 instances without using wineq, just regular windowed mode in everquest and everything works fine.

I have also tried running it without mq2 loaded and the problem still occurs.

Not sure why I can't edit my original post, but -

UPDATE: The issue resolved after I uninstalled and reinstalled Wineq.

This problem is happening again for me. Thought I had it resolved after I reinstalled wineq but its randomly occruring. The wineq session will just freeze up and "blackout" can't tab into that window. Seems fine if only 1 or 2 accounts are up. But, when I load 4-5 , one or more will randomly "freeze/blackout".

Was thinking it was a memory issue, but I have 16 gb of ram... I should be able to load 9-10 if I needed, usually I run 5-6, and never had an issue before.

Check for new ATI drivers, try shutting down other programs to be sure, etc.

What version of Avast are you using? It could potentially interfere.

ATI drivers are upto date. I thought this might be the issue so that was the first thing I updated.

Avast version seems upto date also - version 6.0.1289
