Window 7 and Wini eq not working together

I keep getting errors on a brand new machine.

Error=

The Instruction at 0x)45fd306 Referenced memory at 0x00000044. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program.



Windows 7

AMD Anthlon II X2 245 Processor 2.9 GHz

8.00 GB Ram


Anyone help?

To be sure, this isn't an issue with Windows 7 and WinEQ 2 -- which do work together.

I don't have enough information to tell you what it could possibly be, though. When does this happen exactly?

dunno if you still had that problem or if someone else will have it, i had the same isuue at some point but deleted the ini file in my eq directory and was able to load the game again afterwards without the error.

running win 7 64 bit here.

Two things you need to do:

* Never install EQ, or any game for that matter, and WinEQ2 in the default directories when running Vista/Win7. This causes problems
* Right-click your WinEQ2 icon on your desktop, choose Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and make sure you have Run As Administrator selected towards the bottom.

That will fix 99% of your problems with any program while running Vista/Win7.
