Missing the window tab in preferences

Post by dragoony » Tue May 05, 2009 12:25 pm

I downloaded WinEQ2 the other day. Patch seemed to work. I opened Everquest with a profile. worked fine. But when Im in game I cant change the size of shape of the screen. Under Options, preferences, everquest, I see +general + profiles + hotkeys. Missing the windowed tab...
Also while running 2 sessions the game ran unbelievably slow. and using ctrl+alt+z to switch from session to session took at least 10 secs before becoming controlable. Sorry for the newb question. Thx for any help

I will post my Sisinfo file info incase this helps. ty

Window Presets are a Pro feature of WinEQ 2. As you are a Lite user, some such options will be unavailable to you. If you need that particular feature, you will need to purchase a subscription. Otherwise, you can use any of the standard options in EverQuest to size and position your game windows.

As far as session switching being slow, the only reason I know of that this would be slow is if your CPU is hosed from other running applications. You can check in the windows Task Manager (right click the taskbar, and select Task Manager) in the Processes tab, sort by the CPU column (by clicking it) and watch the highest CPU usage processes when you switch windows.

Also, since you're on a laptop, the power saver options in Windows will affect this. Certain power saver options include lowering the power consumption of the CPU, which drops the CPU speed. To check this, go to the Power Options control panel. Start -> Control Panel, then in "Control Panel Home" view it'd be at the bottom under Mobile PC, Change battery settings, or in Classic View it's just Power Options. Select the High Performance option.

You can also try disabling Aero in Windows, which happens to suck down system performance a bit. If you want to try that, here's a howto: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows- ... ows-vista/

Click and drag usually :P In the in-game Options window, in the Video options, you can select your desired resolution (size).
