eqgame.exe keeps dying

Post by Kilz » Thu Mar 26, 2009 1:22 pm

So I install WinEQ 2 Lite. First time I run it everything works perfectly. Start 3 or 4 instances of EQ1, runs great. Exit out of everything to take a break or whatever, and I can't get EQ to run. WinEQ2 seems to start fine.... but when I right click ---> Everquest --> Profile = eqgame.exe has stopped working. I can start EQ through the normal shortcut not using WinEQ. I can uninstall WinEQ2, delete all the files, re-install and the same thing happens. It'll work great once, try and use it again, no dice. :( HAPL!

If there was an easy answer, it would have been answered already :)

But alas, I don't specifically know what it is that's causing your issue here. It COULD be your Stardock MyColors (or WindowBlinds), which appears to also be hooking into the game. That's probably my best guess.

Thankee for the reply... I'll mess with it and see if that's what's causing it.

That was it! It was part of an Alienware theme manager app. I just went back to a standard theme and un-installed it and WinEQ2 works fine now ;)
