WinEQ Error message

Post by Paradigm68 » Tue Nov 25, 2008 6:38 pm

I see WinEQ patched today =)

After the patch, when I attempt to open an instance of EQ, I get the following error:

This application has failed to start because d3dx9_37.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I'm having this same problem, and instead of opening a "windowed" instance of EQ, it opens full screen. :(

Aaaand my nightmare continues ;)

I've re-patched WinEQ 2 to detect this file being missing, and instructions are in the new patch notes.

The error box indicates the error is with eqgame.exe.

WinEQ will load after this box comes up, however, it shows in windowed mode, but full screen. Going into the EQ Options and switching Video resolutions changes the size of the visible area and a black area in the window to the right and bottom (varing size depending on the screen resolution you pick).

Perfect! Thank you!

If anyone has issues with the instance openning in full screen, once you are inside the EQ instance, go to Options -> Display -> Video -> and select the resolution you desire. The WinEQ window will alter size depending on the resolution you pick.
