Could you explain a little more? Your question is kind of vague.

Which chat?

Which game?

I am having the same problem. WinEQ2 and Windows Vista.

For me its not just the chat windows though its any text in the game, about every 6th? line of text horizontally, and about every 20th letter vertically is like he said, kinda squashed.

Its like if the letter should be 30 pixels tall then it draws pixels 1-6, then skips 7-10, draws 11-16, skips 17-20, etc...

I've changed the chat font size which makes it readable, but you can still tell its happening. Tried a few different fonts too but that didn't change the problem, just made the font different =)

I have to think this is video driver related, I would suggest tracking down some newer drivers. Since you did not include your sysinfo.txt I can't give you any more recommendations then that.

One more bit of info, for me this is happening in 1920x1200, if I resize to 1920x1080 the text is OK, 1600x1200 text is OK. Switch back to 1920x1200 and its clipped in weird ways...

Update- this problem is still happening, at least on my system. Also I thought it was only in 1920X1200 but it turns out it is in any resolution but less obvious if not at max resolution...

If you're playing in a window at the same resolution as your desktop resolution, the game is causing the window to be slightly distorted. The effect is more pronounced in some resolutions than others. WinEQ 2 Pro fixes it for you if you upgrade, or you can play at a different resolution

Not to resurrect an old(er) thread from the dead...

The only fix is to upgrade to WinEQ Pro, or run at a different resolution?

Running 1680x1050 and it happens to me - argh! Jusat upgraded to Vista x64...

Guess I may just have to pony up, as I'm used to that resolution.. :)

What was the solution? If I play at 1920x1200 and my desktop is naturally set at 1920x1200, how do I fix it?

How is the problem fixed by going pro?

If you play in a window at the same resolution as your desktop, the game will slightly shrink, yet use the full resolution. WinEQ 2 Pro changes that behavior to prevent the shrink. If you do not want WinEQ 2 Pro, the easiest way to solve the issue is to play at a smaller resolution than your desktop.
