alt+tab, not working

Post by neupongen01 » Tue Jul 04, 2006 11:02 am

Not a big issue, since you can custom bind hotkeys to your wineq2 windows, but I can't seem to alt+tab at all anymore. Was kinda nice to be able to alt+tab if you were running other programs. Now it just stuck in game window of wineq2. Oh I'm using it to play EQ 1 btw, so this has been happening since the bigh dx9.0c patch about 2 weeks ago. I'm using latest ati drivers for my vid card too btw. Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you perhaps using Windows XP without Service Pack 2? When XP came out, up until SP2, alt+tab was disabled for EverQuest via an application compatibility system. To fix this, you can either update to service pack 2, or follow the age-old instructions: http://www.rpgexpert.com/1666.html

Using Windows XP with service pack 2 installed. I tried to dl the latest Compatibility Toolkit to see if that would help. Unfortunately, Everquest is not listed anymore under applications. But don't think this could be the issue. As I was able to alt+tab before I patched with the new directx 9.0c required for Everquest. So it seems to be either dx9 that messed it up or the patch for wineq2 for the dx9. Anyone else having same issues?

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have not been able to use alt-tab for quite some time. I tried numerous things, none did any good. I had finally just given up hope.

The only known issues and fixes for alt+tab are described in my post. Try them both.
