2/15 patch, WinEQ2-2.07a, 2 Station IDs, 1 EQ installation?

Post by Basic » Fri Feb 18, 2005 12:34 am

I have 2 station IDs, lets call them A and B.

A is my main account/toon and was originally registered with a cdrom that was the Kunark expansion.

B is my alt account/toon and was registered with a cdrom that was Evolution.

Before the 2/15 batch I use to use WinEQ2 to login with station ID A and play one of A's toons. I did this by right clicking WinEQ2, choosing one of A's toon. Entering Station ID A, A's password, etc..

Once I had A's toon in the game, I'd rick click WinEQ2, choose 1 of B's toons, login with Station ID B, B's password, etc...

This doesn't seem to work after the 2/15 patch and WinEQ2-2.07a. If I have A's toon in game and login one of B's toons, A gets kicked. Reverse is true. If B's toon is online, I try to log in A's toon, B gets kicked.

This worked before. It was how I dual-boxed all the time. I especially liked it since I only had to patch 1 EQ installation.

Now, if I put once instance of WinEQ2 over Evolution and another instance of WinEQ2 over Kunark, things work.

Did Sony change something?
