2box still crashing in oow / PoK

Post by Aellis » Fri Jan 14, 2005 10:14 am

Finally posting here after trying everything I could.
Since I have my Gforce 6600GT on my new computer, I cant 2box anymore on it. I moved my EQ directory from my old computer (which still can 2box np with a Gforce TI4200), I turned vertex shaders on, I tried reinstalling drivers (I already had latest drivers), I deleted my EQclient.ini and the problem is still the same. Whenever I am in PoK or OoW with 2 instances of EQ (with or without WinEQ) display is flashing and after a few minutes computer reboots.

If anyone has suggestions, I'm desperate :(

Sounds like a hardware issue... Make sure all of your system fans are spinning, first of all. Then check and see if there's a BIOS update for your motherboard, and any other drivers such as AGP, RAID/SATA/IDE, sound, etc. Past that and the possibility of spyware/virus/etc, I cant think of anything else to suggest other than reinstalling Windows, considering the problem exists with or without WinEQ

Thanks I will try to find new MB drivers.

I dont think it could be an hardware issue though, as I dont have a problem when single boxing EQ1, nor EQ2 (highly stressing the system) or any other game. Windows was installed 2 weeks ago and I dont do anything but gaming on this computer.
I was using an ATI card for a month when I first got this machine and everything was working fine, I reinstalled windows 2 weeks ago when I got my Gforce6600 GT (an asus, I was waiting for its release).
I'm assuming the problem is related to the graphic card and I would love feedbacks if others have similar problems with this model.
It is an asus Gforce 6600 GT 128mb PCIE (native). The problem seems to be very similar to the one decribed with Vertex Shaders Gforce cards as it only shows in PoK or OoW and when 2boxing.

If someone have a suggestion or an idea of where I can seek for more informations, please let me know :/
