Problem with 2 monitors

Post by Gorlail » Mon Jan 10, 2005 8:48 pm

2 monitors, primary 21" at 1280x1024 and secondary 15" at 1024x768. I want 1 session on primary and other on secondary (obviously). Both sessions open on the secondary monitor. I hit scroll-lock to unlock the mouse to move a session to the primary monitor, but when I hit scroll-lock again I can't move the mouse in that session of EQ.

his happens regardless of how short a distance I move the window. Is there any way to get the sessions to open on different monitors, or at least not have the mouse locked out after the window moves?

Thanks,

Here is sysinfo:

Hello. WinEQ Lite does not provide dual monitor features, leaving dual monitor support solely up to the application. As shown in sysinfo.txt:
Video Adapter: Application Controlled

I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to move the mouse, as long as it is in focus and the mouse is captured. Apparently, DirectInput isn't able to re-acquire the device, resulting in the mouse appearing to be stuck. This is abnormal behavior, and this is the first report of such a thing.

What I can tell you, though, is that the game cannot be moved between monitors after the Direct3D device is set up (e.g. the window is opened and the game begins displaying) and still be controlled by hardware. Direct3D requires monitor selection before the fact. So, if you move the window to the other monitor, it will get very low framerate.

So basically no hope of 2-boxing with dual monitors on lite version? :(

You can use dual monitors with the supported games with WinEQ 2.0 Lite just as you would without. Past that, I'm not much help :)

Ok then, I am confused. From your 1st reply I understood that the monitor selection was application controlled, and that I couldn't move one window to a different monitor. Since both instances opened on the secondary monitor it seemed pointless to have dual monitors.

I was only rephrasing that it is application controlled...

Sorry, last time I am going to bother you. :)

When you say application controlled - which application?

Thanks.

There's 3 different options for WinEQ Pro when using dual monitor support.. Applicaton controlled, primary display, secondary display. Lite is limited only to application controlled. Application controlled therefore is understood to mean that the game itself is deciding the display, and WinEQ is not interfering.
