wineq 2.0 rc3 keyboard issue

Post by alexielle » Wed Nov 03, 2004 2:35 pm

Hi,

i just saw that wineq 2.0 rc3 was released so tested it out ;)
works fine ... however when i do arrive to the char select page ... no more keyboard ....
I still can log on with the mouse ;) but will still have keyboard issues...

I do play on the French localised server ... however if i do use wineq 1.38 i do have no keyboard issues... any ideas ? :)

here are my sysinfos:

Hi there, I'm aware of this issue and it SHOULD be solved in RC4 which should be released shortly. Please let me know if it is solved or not after that :)

Hi :) it s me again ^^

well got the rc4 and tested it out ;) Seems really nice (game seems more fluid). Though, seems i had few bugs :)

Here they are:
- still no keyboard for non us-local keyboards ( at the login i can write my pass /log, then i can choose my server with arrows but at the char selection no more keyboards ).
- I was looking for the allow larger than screen option ;) the auto resize seems to fail: i do have the right X-scale but not the right Y-scale

I ll keep on posting if i find other bugs :)

However good job lax, i do really think i lag less when i move in zones like wos / causeway ^^ ~~ U rox ;)

lol i was about to forget it... here are my sysinfos as well:

another "non US user here"

With Version 2.0 I have the same keyboard issue as mentioned above. Everthng else runs very smoothly. Didnt think boxing could be that simple... now if i could only move ^^

Any workaround or tips to make the keyboad work on non us version.

Before I forget. It is not all keys that dont function. I noticed that the letter and number keys work fine. It is just the arrows, backspace and most importantly enter.

Aha. That's interesting to know. I have something in the next release, coming in an hour or two, to help us take care of this issue

With WinEQ 2.02 which is now released, open the file WinEQ-EQ.ini and under [General] make a new line:
InputDebug=1

This will pop text up in the middle of your screen when you press a key, giving the name of the key and its virtual key code. For any keys that do not work, please give me that information and I will make sure to get it fixed as soon as possible.

this oughta be interessting:

Downloaded, installed, added debug command.

In the Log-In menu where you type in station name and pass ALL keys are recognicided and shown through your debug output. Now, once you get to the char select this no longer works. There is no more debug output and I have to select the character via mouse and click on enter world (Welt betreten ;) )
Now in game it is the same scenario. No keys (and I mean no keys, none at all) recogniced. Once I click into the ingame chatline of i.e /gu I can type though but I cannot backspace or hit enter. Even in the chat prompt I do not have the debug output anymore. Seems to me, that as soon as DirectX is active (which basically starts at char select and not a login before) the input is no longer getting through.

Will try to upgrade graphic adapters drivers and see if there is a newer directx release eventough i dont think this is the cause of the problem.

any ideas from your side lax?

Hmmmm... well, DirectX is active from the EULA, it just all gets re-initialized after server select. I'll see what I can dig up, thank you for the information
